Hey guys,
I haven't posted in a while! I have started my senior year at DAAP! It's going to take a lot of work, but I can do it! Since I last posted, I have painted my dog, moved to a great apartment in a perfect location (currently listening to church bells!), and begun the first steps to my thesis project.
Here are some progress shots of my painting of my puppy, Athena!
So there's that. I'm finally going to be able to use cars in my pieces and do what I want with them. I am starting big and loose, using end rolls of newsprint that I acquired by calling the Cincinnati Enquirer and asking if they would donate some old rolls to an art student. I highly suggest using all possible resources when looking to do art. Paper can be expensive and if you want to work large, the cost adds up. Calling your local newspaper, FedEx/Kinkos, or any printing station is a great way to start. Usually these place throw away big rolls of paper that they aren't using anymore. Lucky for Cincinnati, The Enquirer collects their rolls and gives them to a separate company to recycle these left overs. They also love donating to students!
This is my start to my thesis work. Huge paper, lots of car magazines, paint brushes, and ink. I haven't really used ink much at all, really, so this is going to be an adventure for me.
