New Inspiration

This is "Angus," a graphite drawing of one of the Gutter Dogs
In my life, I have always wanted to help animals and be involved with rescues.  I volunteered at a rescue at a young age (O'bryonville Animal Rescue).  I have come to this realization that I have not been including my love for animals in my artwork.  I stumbled upon this artist, Margie Glass-Sula who does what I would like to do, paints and draws abused and rescued dogs, focusing mainly on bully breeds,  and donates the money from the artwork to dog rescues.   This is inspiring to me, because I am now a "mother" of a rescued bully breed puppy!  I would like to base some pieces around her and my new life as a bully mom.

I would like to create a series of mixed media paintings of my puppy through the stages of her life, to show that the bully breeds are loving, misunderstood animals.  I would like to reflect the loyalty, intelligence, and cuddly nature of this breed.  I am thinking that I will paint a 3 painting series.  More to come on that idea!
