I have been working a lot on new ideas, using car parts again to create splatters. I then cut these splatters out into car part shapes!
It's been fun, but sort of obnoxious. I have to cut all of these car parts out, almost mechanically, so they have clean lines and are as accurate as possible.
This is my first step. Putting my car parts into ink and splattering them onto paper. I dyed some of these with black, some with orange, and some I mixed the two colors.
I work on the floor. As an artist and as a Montessori student born and raised, I always, without hesitation end up on the floor. I wish I could explain it better.
This is me with my dirty hands! I love it.
Drawing on the back and beginning to cut the shapes in the interior out.
Here's the finished cut out.
These are prototypes.
These were just trials. I was having fun and playing with different car parts, ink colors, sizes, and paper types.
